Day 6: Alaska 2024 GNSS-A Deployment - Wild Ocean!

After the long-term transition, we have finished the SNK1 site work, now we are arriving the UNI1. Our team tries to help crew members hold up the wire and release the transponder to the sea.

Today the weather is not that good, we did not see the surprising and gorgeous sunset or sunrise either, because the sun was covered totally by the cloudy sky. And all the operations were carried out in the darkness from 2am.

It is approaching the storm, the ship shaked a lot. Our group has been hit by the headache and sickness sadly. Even though, we helped crew members deploy the transponders and recovered the float packages, nice to get crew experience!

Besides, there is PI joining us. PI Dr. Surui participated in the crew member team to recover the floating package.

Also Alex has attended into the crew member team, sadly here is no photo for that.

This tuesday, a lot of work has been done even facing with the severe weather. UNI1 has been all done and we did part of mesh transponder experiment. Great progress has been achieved!

After the lunch, we have the first student presentation by Behnaz, her amazing presentation impressed everyone and made a nice start for the students' presentation.
The storm is approaching, hope everything goes well!
