This research expedition would not have been possible without the tireless work and support of the crew of R/V Atlantis. From feeding us daily with a gorgeous, inclusive banquet to regaling us with sea stories, it was an absolute pleasure to work with them as we went about our scientific mission of placing transponders and GNSS-A sites on the bottom of ocean floor near the trench of the Cascadia Subduction Zone.

During our last day on the ship, we got a tour of the engine room and all the machinery that kept the ship chugging along. We also found some cool Spongebob theme stickers in the engine room which made us chuckle in the loud noise of the engine room. We then got a briefing of the various knobs and buttons on the bridge of the ship and how the captain uses them to navigate the ship. Every crew member were super approachable and was always ready to share their sea adventures with us. We even watched a Wes Anderson classic (Life Aquatic) with them in the movie room! Anna and Allison were always there to answer our questions, navigate us through the ship's million stairwells, and patiently guided us through the CTD casting process. The Jason crew was gracious enough to let us drive the ROV for a bit (under the watchful guidance of the pilot of course!). We all worked as one tight unit to achieve our scientific goals.

And to top it all of, we got to see a whale as we came into port! Huge thank you to the crew of Atlantis for making our sea-faring journey so memorable. And with that, Land Ahoy!
