Heading to Sea -- Safety first

We are getting ready to head out for our first official leg of the Near-Trench Community Geodetic Experiment.  In doing so, we all spent some quality time getting acquainted with "Gumby" immersion suits.  Above, one of our "Appy-to-Sail" members, Niloufar Abolfathian, a Postdoc at NASA-JPL, is completing her immersion into the gear.  

We will be heading out at 16:45 local time (PDT) today, July 7, 2023, and expect to be deploying our first Wave Glider by 23:00h tonight.
